Deset superbrzih vlakova, koje je prošli mjesec potopio tajfun Hagibis koji je poharao Japan, bit će - uništeni, objavio je BBC.

Vlakovi, koji su prometovali na liniji Hokuriku - Shinkansen, bili su parkirani u gradu Naganu, a tajfun je na to područje "udario" vjetrovima koji su puhali brzinom od 225 km/h.

Oluja Hagibis usmrtila je oko 90 ljudi, raselila tisuće i uzrokovala katastrofalne poplave.

Japanski mediji pišu kako bi se neke komponente potopljenih vlakova još mogle koristiti, ali gubitak je već procijenjen na iznos između 85 do 104 milijuna eura.

Svaki vlak ima 12 vagona, a tajfun im je, nažalost, oštetio motore i kočnice, zbog čega je uprava japanskih željeznica odlučila sve ih uništiti i zamijeniti novima.

- Stabilnost i sigurnost moraju biti na prvom mjestu - priopćili su i dodali kako "vozni park" namjeravaju u potpunosti obnoviti do ožujka 2020. godine.
