This NASA image obtained November 13, 2014 shows what the NOAA's GOES satellite captured of the the storm system that brought wintry weather in the entire US centered near Ontario, Canada. Snow is visible in the US and Canadian Rockies. NOAA's National Weather Service noted on November 12, 2014 that the storm system moving across eastern Canada will bring lake effect snow across parts of the Great Lakes through November 13, 2014. Behind the cold front, an Arctic air mass will bring much lower temperatures -- in some cases 25 to 40 degrees below normal -- across much of the northern and central US.
